Every colour in the world as its palate

Camouflaged in context

So slow and cautious

Deliberate in its movements

Eyes rolling in discontinuous orbits

Then still, waiting.

It is motionless this soapstone carving

With the artists name scratched on its stand

And the price it was sold for.

It reminds me of that place

And the cost of a country,

still waiting.
